Where We Fit In

There are many young people in Australia who want to learn but who are so significantly disadvantaged that their option to learn is substantially taken away. That’s where we come in.

We help in three ways:-

a)   Our first major project was a unique social partnership, with the Government of Victoria, in the Doveton College, see Doveton College

b)   While delivering improved academic outcomes – see Our Place – the Doveton College model – it is Doveton College’s community engagement program that is significantly impacting the community. We are currently working with the Victorian Government to deliver the Our Place model to many more schools.

c)   We also try to help young people, for whom other assistance is unavailable, with the purchase of books and other education-related needs – see Apply for a Grant

Our philosophical underpinning

Whilst inequality of opportunity and capacity is a fact of life, it is how we deal with it that is a measure of our very worth – as a people and as a society.

We believe that people in a noble society have a duty to those who are weaker or less fortunate; that with economic or other advantage comes an obligation – to be aware of the difficulties of others – and to do something about it.
